Not only can music videos be similar in the sense of genre i.e. whether they are rock, pop or dub-step but they can also be similar depending on their form, whether they are performance or narrative based.
The 2 videos below by Sub Focus and Modestep are similar because of the genre of music. They are both drum and bass as well as my chosen song, 'Pieces'.
On the other hand, their are songs which although are a completely different genre of music, have a similar form due to the kind of narrative or performance involved. I chose Matt Cardle's video because of the performance part. Both Matt Cardle and Plan B have a part where it is just them in sight singing and playing guitar. I chose Katy Perry's song T.G.I.F because it includes both a narrative and a performance in it, which the video for Pieces also has. Below are the videos.
